About Bangkok
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand is one of the world’s biggest city, with an area of 1,500 square kilometres, more the ten million people and over 30,000 taxis circulating in this urban jungle. What was once only a small trading village became Siam capital in 1782. In the following 200 years it quickly became Thailand’s spiritual, cultural, political, commercial, educational and diplomatic centre. The city itself is split up into 50 districts with some more popular than others. Some of the most known district include Rattanakosin home to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, Khao San Road the backpacker Mecca, Yaowarat Chinatown, Pahurat Indian community, Dusit the political centre of Thailand, the area around Siam Square the city modern commercial core, Sukhumvit filled with quality hotels and clubs and Silom the financial centre by day turning party district by night.

Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is a very large in size collection of astonishingly decorated temples and other holy monuments, with the most famous being Wat Phra Kaew the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and perhaps one of the most sacred in Thailand.

Wat Pho also called the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and located near the Grand Palace is home to the world’s largest reclining Buddha image and a famous massage school.
